Second Saturday Songwriters Showcase

So it begins...  Second Saturday Songwriters Showcase,  August 13th 2011.  An installment of a showcase hosted by JoyScout on the second Saturday of every month.  It takes place at Kavarna Coffee in the neighborhood of Oakhurst, Atlanta.  The scene is energized with an open, polite,  lightheartedness, that engages listeners to mesh with soft prettiness of a Saturday Night.

JoyScout are eagar talented hosts.  They start the set with some really good music and the house is charged to listen. Throughout the night, various songwriters find their way to the stage.  The night featured Jen Lowe, Jesse Tyler and Paul Warner.  A few other friends and artists alike are invited to sit in on teh showcase with their own music and their raw individual style of play.  All of the artists mesh well together and exceed in most cases, bringing out the true nuances and spirit of each others songs and music.gallery

The house is filled but not packed.  You can find various types and styles of coffee along with beer and wine.  The coffee shop is simple with an open stage.  It offers views of the center of Oakhurst along with providing a cozy savvy, making it very easy to sit back and listen.  The cover is $10 a small price to pay for the warmth and talent that one can find on a Saturday night.

The night is round up with Second Saturdays Songwriters Showcase Free for All. Its a jam session found in all of its acoustic glory.
